Hello World

welcome to the site.

why a blog?

been meaning to do this for a while. i dont think this post actually counts though so ill have to work on writing something real.

the stack

went with Astro for this one. static site generation, great performance, and i can use MDX for posts. no need for a heavy framework when you’re just serving content.

the design is something i’ve been been thinking abt for a while - a 2D scroll surface where you navigate in different directions:

  • up for about
  • down for blog
  • left for nothing tbh
  • right for work
  • and maybe diagonal at some point

i like the idea of a canvas and this felt like a natural way to organize things spatially rather than hiding everything behind hamburger menus or whatever. Ive always been annoyed that there isnt more places like that on the web, feels like the more human natural way to organize and navigate even if it has some drawbacks.

what to expect

  • i have no idea - maybe long form or short form posts, maybe i never update this ever again (i hope not)

let’s see where this goes.
